We're just about ready for the three hour final leg into Lubbock. Wish us luck.
I've heard the track of Rita has changed significantly, but haven't been able to verify... Latest is cat 4, 145 MPH winds, and a pressure of 912 millibars.Labels: Hurricane Rita, Life

discordia @ 9/22/2005 06:08:00 PM:
She's moved more sharply to the north, heading toward the Texas/Lousiana border. However, the tropical storm force winds are extending all the way to a massive 205 miles from the centre, about 60 from the eye. Still not safe. To top this, she is undergoing eyewall replacement cycle (hence the weakening) and was over a spot of cooler waters (hence more weakening) but according to NHC, her winds and pressure are not synced and she could intensify again when she hits more warm water here over night. We'll see and my prayers are with you.
